Making a Writing Slope - a Simple LITTLE task LOL

Welcome back to the channel.

This project has taken around 5.5 months so I'm sorry for the long wait between video uploads.

This writing slope / Lap Desk / portable desk is made from Very Curly Maple and interestingly figured Walnut. The Main maple carcass is mitered and splined with wedges made from my own lamination of veneers to create a simple pattern.

The hidden Dovetailed drawer compartment is mainly American Walnut.

The brass work for the compartment latch mechanism had to be hand made whilst the hinges and catches are all Brusso.

The laser engraving was done on an Ortur Laser master 2

The two pens seen at the end were both turned by a friend using the same wood as the carcass and kits from Axminster Tools. Check his Instagram.

This has really challenged me as I can only managed around an hour a day but I'm pleased with the outcome.
