We started out a couple of years ago just folding down all the seats and sleeping on top. Then I removed the parts you sit on in the second row because they shortened the sleeping space as they folded up against the front seats. Earlier this year we put a board over the remainder to make it flatter. Finally, last week, we have removed the seats and built a frame so we have tones more storage under the bed. So now we don't need a trunk strapped to the roof of the car to go away.The seats come out by simply removing all the bolts with a good socket wrench. The lock nuts used on the front of the third row were more challenging, but they are still just nuts to be removed with the socket wrench. You then lift the seats out.
