Grandparents play an essential role in the family dynamics within the Caribbean region and globally and so when there are grandparents who have contrasting beliefs and values systems we (readers) can see how it can affect the family' cohesiveness.
This story so brilliantly crafted by the writer, Olive Senior is an authentic representation of the disparity that existed (and this exist) between the lifestyles of urban and rural folks.
