This piece is the fourth of ‘Five Pieces for Two Clavichords’ written by Terence Charlston in 2018.
‘Five Pieces for Two Clavichords’ were composed for a concert performance using two five-octave unfretted clavichords and inspired by the 40th anniversary of ‘Four Lessons for Two Keyboards’ Op. 81 written by Peter Maxwell Davies in 1978.
The first performance was given by Terence Charlston and Julian Perkins on 30th March 2019 in the Quaker Meeting House, Harpenden, UK.
This video performance given by Julian Perkins and Terence Charlston was recorded at Stone House in South London on 6 September 2019.
The clavichords are by Peter Bavington (2002) after J. H. Silbermann and by Karin Richter (1998) after C. G. Hubert.
The Hubert/Richter clavichord was kindly loaned by Peter Bavington and Judith Wardman
