The best people don’t rely on job boards, but on average about 80% of job seekers, search for jobs only on job boards. But in reality, many of those jobs are already filled.

But here’s the thing, the best people still look at job boards to find out who is hiring, but they’re not using the job boards to apply to those jobs.
Instead, they use the boards as a research tool, and then they use their professional network to find out who works there, and who can help them get the interview with the right person.

It’s kind of like using the back door to get in to a crowded event. Why wait in the line that’s hanging out the front door? But when you know someone, you can skip the line.
