Hiking Machu Picchu | 3- Day Salkantay Trek

At a young age I had dreamed of visiting lush forests surrounded by towering mountain ranges.
This was indeed the trip that satisfied my ten year old self. He'd be proud. Months prior my roommate Pete and I had devised a plan to fly from Denver Colorado (our home) down to South America to backpack some highly anticipated regions. We began our 17 day adventure in Rio De Janiero followed by sightseeing on Ilha grande & Iguazu falls. Migrating from Brazil to Peru we found ourselves enamored with the city of Cusco and its surrounding regions.

Partnering with Machu Picchu Reservations we were lucky enough to be paired with Owen our guide. If you're going through this company I'd highly suggest seeing if he or his brother Zugar are free, you won't regret it. Our group spent the next 3 days venturing through the Andes on the notorious Salkantay Trek. I was overwhelmed with how much fun this journey truly was. Surrounded by amazing personalities, and taken care of by an incredible company I don't have enough words to express my gratitude and thanks. The motley crue of strangers we started as soon transitioned into one large family sharing stories, experience, and the outdoors. An experience I will never forget, and will always be thankful for.
