The BMW 858 CSL is a one-off restomod based on the E31 8 Series, featuring a stroked 5.8-liter V10 engine from the E60 M5, producing an estimated 630 horsepower. Rear: An integrated ducktail spoiler and a carbon fiber diffuser with quad exhaust pipes.
Color: Painted in Silver Grey Metallic, a color also found on the E46 M3 and E46 CSL.
Interior and features
Seats: E36 M3 "Vader" seats.
Steering Wheel and Gauges: Taken from the E60 M5.
Infotainment and Controls: A mix of classic E31 elements with a modern infotainment screen, climate controls, and other buttons from the E60 M5.
Design inspiration
The "858 CSL" name comes from the stroked engine size (5.8L) and the classic "Competition Sport Lightweight" designation.

Exterior design
The design incorporates styling cues from classic and modern BMW M cars while enhancing the aggressive look of the E31 chassis.
Body: A carbon-fiber widebody kit, designed by Jon Sibal, enhances the car's aggressive stance and adds about 8 inches of width.
Paint: The car is finished in Silver Grey Metallic, the same color used on the E46 M3 CSL.
Wheels: It features custom-made ALP-001 wheels inspired by classic Alpina and E46 M3 CSL designs.
Lighting: Custom LED exterior lights replace the original E31 units.
Aerodynamics: The exterior includes flared arches from the E30 M3, a front valance from the E39 M5, and a rear spoiler inspired by the E46 M3 CSL. It also has a carbon-fiber rear diffuser.
Interior features
The interior is a blend of classic E31 aesthetics with modern BMW components for functionality and improved ergonomics.
Seats: The cabin features black Nappa leather and "Vader" bucket seats from an E36 M3.
Controls and electronics: The steering wheel, instrumentation, and many controls are sourced from an E60 M5. An iDrive screen and push-button start were also integrated.
Serviceability: The car retains its factory OBD2, CAN, and MOSTBUS functionality, allowing it to be serviced like a modern BMW.
Materials: Carbon fiber is used extensively throughout the interior, including the center console, door cards, and headliner.
