1. 失礼しますが、RIP♡ || “Excuse My Rudeness, But Could You Please RIP?”
Why did her first introduction song have to be so rap heavy? sigh It's an absolute banger, though. I had troubles on how to arrange it. In the end I included her voice without the instrumentals she provided for the remix competition. 0:48 (b. 16) is challenging to play at full tempo at first but surprisingly manageable. The one thing I'm not satisfied in is 0:57 but oh well. The last thing I want to mention is 1:26 (b. 32) with the 3:4 Polyrhythm. It gave me Chopin flashbacks...

2. HINOTORI
I love the transition to this one. Fortunately, both songs were a fifth apart which made it easier. A tip I got from Animenz: Arpeggios are like a cheat code for easy transitions. It also fits as this song is fast paced. My original version was more complex but I changed my mind due to the already high tempo. I also really like 2:15 (b. 67) and 2:27 (b. 76). It's my first time using scales in my arrangements and it made me happy that my warmup exercises had some actual usage. Out of the six songs I chose, it was probably the most "anime-like" which is also a plus point for me. Thus isn't that distinct but still pretty enjoyable.

3. Violet
3:18 (b. 108) to 3:38 (b. 115) is probably my favorite part of the whole arrangement. The fingering in this three-hand technique is a bit tricky but if you can properly bring out the melody, it doesn't only sound well but it's also extremely fun to play! The rest is self-explanatory, especially the left hand is not complex. I also enjoy this song, but imo it sounds too generic, just like every other J-Pop song and it's not a banger like HINOTORI. Still, it's fun to play on the piano!

4. Reflect
I'm sure you recognize this small citation at 4:11 (b. 128) from Titanic. I think it's fitting as Gura is a shark and they share a common theme: the sea. 4:37 (b. 141) and its repetitions are directly taken from Kurolaff, I couldn't figure out a better solution (thanks)! At 4:42 (b. 143), playing that high octave is surprisingly challenging (at least for me) so you can just leave it and the next octave out if you want. It's the same for the octaves that you have to play in the higher register, for example in 5:18 (b. 162) and so on. Just leave out the highest note in those sections if those crazy jumps are too fast. I'm not proud of how I arranged this piece at all, especially the left hand (and that transition in 6:04). Overall a superb song!

5. Caesura of Despair
Not a member of HoloMyth but her voice is amazing, so I included her. Not much to say, good song, boring arrangement.

6. Regret
Sadly, Ame doesn't have an original song. What a banger though.


I had so much fun arranging! I’ll probably do another one in April. I planned to actually film me playing, but I couldn't finish it in time (~10 days arranging + ~2 weeks practicing, was only at ~60%) and I play so bad. Thank you for reading this far!
