Who are the Sindhis? I wasn't aware of the Sindhi community till I met my wife, Shaneez. I always wanted to make a video on the Sindhi community because I feel many of us are not aware of their culture. Shaneez's family history reveals how her grandparents fled during the partition violence around 1947, leading to migration to Surabaya, Indonesia. I talk about the rich and often-overlooked history of Sindhi Hindus, their cultural dynamics, and the impact of British colonialism, which allowed many to prosper abroad. Despite thriving in business and adapting to new lands, the community faces identity struggles in India, sliding into stereotypes and losing their language. The plight of Sindhi Hindus, both in India and Pakistan, underscores the tension of preserving culture while navigating modernity.
