An acoustic cover of Isn't It a Pity by George Harrison, one of my all time favourite songs associated with The Beatles and probably my favourite George Harrison composition.
I find this song to have a similar sentiment to God by John Lennon and I find it fascinating that two Beatles were in a similar frame of mind following the breakup of the band (when one of them clearly wasnt!). I do also wonder if the line "we take each others love" could have been written about Eric Clapton's famous affair with Patti Boyd that lead to their eventual marriage but who knows. Either way, its a wonderfully thought provoking one liner from a lyrical composition that is beautifully reflective and observant of the human condition.
Greg Dulli & Shawn Smith have done an absolutely incredible cover of this song which can be found on Greg Dulli's "Live at Triple Door" live album. What I wouldnt give to go back in time and be in that room with those two amazing voices.
