Super Metroid Any% KPDR "old route" in

Super happy with finishing this category for now with a time a bit lower than I expected to get. This is a strange run where I didn't put together a clean segment at the start (up to bombs) but then played really well to Phantoon and won a lot of time back. With those kind of paces a medicore set of patterns (fast/slow) is good enough to run away with and try and pb which thankfully this did comfortably. This is also one of those weird pbs where unfortunate and uncharacteristic mistakes occurred here and there which admittedly do irk me and only go to show what could have been rather than something to gloss over, for me anyway: Missing fish tank jump, messing up Botwoon slightly, shooting Ridley's tail made me have to force another swoop. From Ridley kill to the ship - while no golds - was very strong and probably the highlight of the run as far as lengthy period of gameplay goes. There was also a close call at Phantoon narrowly missing getting tagged from both Phantoon and the flames and almost being too close to pull off the final air doppler. The Metroid skip being turned into a 4 jump is probably the least satisfying part of the run since I've been very consistent at 3 jump. It was another close call where the lag was so intense and could've easily forced me to jump early and ride the wall trying to escape. Glad I focused there. Sometimes a pb is more memorable for its mistakes and rollercoaster moments than its actual time. Guess I can live with this!
