2020 was a strange year but in late June me and my girlfriend Simone had the possibility to spend some weeks in Iceland. We wanted to experience the nature of Iceland not only in the car, but also on foot. We spent four days hiking the Laugavegur and Fimmvörðuháls trails, two combined hiking trails with a total stretch of 80km and cover one of the most beautiful parts of Iceland, through the abandoned highlands, Icelands vast volcanic landscaped and hot springs.
Iceland was one of the first nordic countries to welcome foreign hikers back with joy as early as June 2020 and despite Corona, wanted to revive its outdoor tourism with great effort and safety measures.
