How to Make Sugar Cane SYRUP -- Part 3 of the Syrup Making Process

Making syrup in your Backyard is something you can do. Today we take you through the squeezing of the sugar cane to extract the juice using an old cane mill that Danny refurbished. We evaporate the water out of the juice by heating it in stainless pans over a barrel stove that Danny built. This process took 8 hours to have a perfect pancake syrup. By cooking it longer, it would have gotten even thicker for a molasses type syrup. After 2 days of cooking syrup, we cleaned up the fodder from the mill and the fields. We have enough syrup for a year or longer.
