This is a small proof of concept I've been working on. I cut some stuff for time but I'm probably gonna drop a director's cut on Patreon this month.

For some reason, the 2001 iteration of Degrassi had me hooked most of my summer and I had to talk about it. If this show becomes a recurring theme on this channel, the references will probably not be as online as this video. You've been warned. J.T. is not my favorite character but by all accounts, he was the one I spent the most time thinking about. Really interesting responses to certain facets of his journey. In this rough (somehow not nine hour) essay, I wanted to try and better contextualize some points on the timeline that seem commonly overlooked. You'd be hard pressed to find a character in this show that you couldn't say 'deserved better', but the amount of love this kid gets feels like it stands in direct contrast to how thoughtful the commentary on him has been.
