BMW India believes the India-EU Free Trade Agreement could transform the country’s tiny luxury car market, currently just 1% of all passenger vehicles. By lowering customs duties on imported cars, including CBUs that account for 5% of BMW sales, the pact is expected to expand portfolios, drive demand, and encourage supply chain integration and localisation—without affecting the mass market.
