In March 2016 Whizz the Newfoundland was posthumously awarded a PDSA Order of Merit (known as the Animals' OBE) for saving ten people and one dog from drowning. Whizz's fantastic work will continue with ‘Canary Woof’ - a special fundraising event in London for PDSA, giving people the chance to be ‘rescued’ from the wharf by a Newfoundland rescue dog.
