Pannenkoeken vs. pancakes: What’s the real difference?

Pancakes come in all shapes and sizes — and they’ve been around for ages. Archeologists believe they might have even been on the menu in prehistoric times. But few countries love pancakes quite as much as the Netherlands. Here, “pannenkoeken” are eaten sweet or savory, morning to night — even as a full meal.
