Steam Train to Simon’s Town! Ep 537

As many know, we love steam trains, so we were thrilled to have another opportunity to travel on the Ceres Rail Company’s steam train to Simon’s Town. We were very excited and made sure to arrive early in the morning. The route was absolutely beautiful, and many of the stations we passed through were in excellent condition, which was great to see. The train tracks followed along False Bay, offering stunning views. It was the weekend of the SA Navy Festival, so Simon’s Town was bustling with activity. We made an attempt to fall in line to enter the Naval Base, but there were just too many people. After a light lunch, we returned to the train and enjoyed a wonderful trip back to Cape Town. It was another fantastic experience during which history literally transported us.
