If you ever wondered why certain players love to use the bank shot then let me explain something really quick.

When you shoot a bank shot you actually have more room for error.

The power of your shot can be off a little because when the ball hits the backboard it will deaden the ball some and soften up your shot.

Also you have more room for error left and right.

When shooting a bank shot remember that you must have the proper angle. If you are too flat or to square on the backboard it makes it much more difficult.

You know you have the perfect angle when you are able to shoot the ball and have it hit the top right of the square and go in.

In order for this shot to be soft you want the ball to hit the back board at the top of your arc. That ensures that the shot won't bounce off too hard and cause you to miss.
