Hello everyone! I hope you're all doing great! In this video I'm doing a restoration on a 2014 Mercedes GLK 350. These headlights can get pretty pricing when it comes to replacing them. A normal DIY store bought kit wouldn't be able to restore these, since those kits are for the best case scenario, meaning a thin layer of oxidation. These headlights had it all, microcracking, severe oxidation and old clear coat.
I started with 320 to remove the severe oxidation and old clear coat. The passenger side was much more difficult, and had some very stubborn spots. Once everything was removed, I sanded with 400 to remove the deeper scratches from the 320, then finished with the 600 before applying the clear coat. All in, it took 27 minutes to restore both headlights from start to finish.
