A procession of the largest mikoshi in the Kanto region, weighing approximately 3 tons, is held in a brave and solemn manner.

The Hachioji Festival, said to be one of the Kanto region's leading float festivals, features 19 intricately carved floats. During the night parade, the floats are lit up by lights, creating a fantastic sight that is different from the daytime, making the parade worth seeing.
In addition, you can fully enjoy the many traditional cultural aspects of Hachioji, such as the lion dance, an intangible folk cultural asset designated by Hachioji City and performed at shrines in the city, the Kanto Taiko Battle that reverberates through the summer sky, and the folk dance nagashi, where dancers in yukata gather on Koshu Kaido.
