Today let's talk about one of the many challenges of learning Mandarin: Polyphones. Polyphones are characters that have multiple pronunciations, like 乐 which can be read as yuè or lè, depending on its meaning and usage.
My name is Alex, I have a Master's Degree in Teaching Chinese as a Foreign Language from Beijing Foreign Studies University and wrote my master's thesis on the topic of tones.
