Dr Lisa Darragh, of the Univerisity of Auckland, talks to us about some of the research and worries of modern Ed-Tech. She draws on relevant literature, and her own NZ research to help us understand the alluring promised ed tech can make and some shortcomings of Online Mathematics Instructional Platforms (OLIMs). These OLIM range is styles, some offer AI support, many gamifying learning, and most offering feedback/data. Lisa encourages us to understand the opportunities and issues, so we can make the best decisions about if/how these platforms can be used effectively.
