Shockwave and the Decepticons seem to have no connection at all

There is no visible sense of closeness or connection built between Shockwave and the other Decepticons. In Dark of the Moon, he is often seen moving alone, even though he actually works for Megatron in carrying out Sentinel Prime’s plan to restore Cybertron. Yet on screen, we never see them communicate directly.

Shockwave’s presence had actually been hinted at long before, when a piece of newspaper reporting his arrival was carried away by the wind and briefly seen in Egypt. He appears lonely with his beloved Driller, yet he was powerful enough to devastate the city of Chicago with his overwhelming strength.
