Video log of a trip to South Bear Creek in Winneshiek County on Friday, January 10, 2025. During the early months of the year this creek contains wild brown trout and holdover rainbow trout.
We spooked a ton of trout in the low, crystal clear headwaters section of the creek. Combined with the inactive bite, fishing was a grind and only a few were brought to hand. Fortunately, the company of my good friend Dre made it a fun day of winter tenkara.
