Magnolia Park Campground Tour, Apopka Florida (RV Living Full Time) 4K Part 1

Now that we are back to living this full time RV life after 2 months of lock down, we were thrilled to stumble across Magnolia park, a county park in Apopka. With only 18 sites (look for time stamp below) and never full the 2 weeks we were there, it definitely is a hidden gem. AND the peacocks!

The campground map does not state how big the sites are (watch our site to site tour carefully to judge if you will fit) or what hookups. Every site has 20, 30, 50, and water. There is no sewer- what you see by the water spicket is the water shut off valve.
Be careful of the many ants, the raccoons, and the gator at the pond. Also, don't get too close to the peacocks, they can be aggressive.
But the staff was very helpful and friendly and we never had a problem with noise.
Make sure to go across the street to watch the beautiful sunsets over the water.

History:
The 56 acres for Magnolia Park was deeded to Orange County in 1962 by Kenneke and McGrew families after Commissioner Freeman sought the area for public access.
Freeman did not want the park named after him. Instead it is named after his favorite aunt, Magnolia Hamby, and not Magnolias trees in the area as many thought.

Description of park:
"Magnolia Park contains picnic tables, playgrounds, volleyball courts, basketball courts, baseball fields, a boat ramp, 18 RV/tent campsites [with a bathhouse, 20, 30, 50 amp, water but no sewer- use dump station, fire ring, grill, picnic table], and 2 group campsites. A half-mile paved roadway wraps around the perimeter of the park. Alcohol is prohibited.
A trailhead for the Lake Apopka Loop Trail is located on the northwest side of the park."
The boat ramp is open 24 hours and is one of the few places to launch a canoe or kayak. Make sure to watch the sunset on this side since the other side closes before sunset- depending on time of year.
Leashed dogs are welcome.

Magnolia Park is located at 2929 S Binion RD, Apopka, FL 32703. It is open daily, from 8:00am – 8:00pm in the summer, and 8:00am – 6:00pm in the winter.
