in this video I document the setup of three identical jar aquariums. These jars are a fine example of the minimalistic design suited to planted nano aquaria. With no filter, pumps, or fertilizers required. Suited perfectly for a handful of bladder snails.
The goal here is to reduce the size of the gene pool for each separate population. Starting with only 2 snails in each jar and allowing them to reproduce. Maintaining the isolation without adding any new blood to the population.
I am establishing three unique inbred lineages to expose recessive traits latent in their DNA. This is classic selective breeding or genetic line isolation. Commonly practiced in agriculture for example.
Please do not expose your pets to radiation or other dangerous things. Though I have commented on this in the past - these snails were created by an act of nature. Hurricane debris blown into a pond.
