Electric field of a finite rectangular plate

Finding the on-axis electric field produced by a uniformly charged rectangular plate of finite size, by splitting the plate up into area elements and using the principle of superposition. Lots of trigonometric substitutions are required to evaluate the resulting integrals, but we eventually arrive at a neat result in closed form! The same method could be used for gravity as well.
