Pink Floyd - Echoes part I (cover) by Poles Apart

Dear friends, Poles Apart is now back with Pink Floyd ECHOES from the past! The song was already finished in July 2012 but for some reason we decided to put aside...

This year we decided to approach it once again and revisit the track, being more experienced in terms of recording techniques and production. In this respect we've added new parts while previous work was remodeled to our new standards of sound.

ECHOES is a song that tells a story of creation with its start beneath the sea. However, the songs is mainly recognised by Pink Floyd performance in an ancient amphitheatre in Pompeii. Therefore, we decided to join these themes together to create some sort of a hybrid (without having any fancy budget that is).

The idea was to match the classic Floyd atmosphere and recreate the track with passion and respect for the sound clarity and composition. In the track there were used - Piano and Leslie, Hammond, Black Strat, White Strat, Premier Drums, Fender Precission Bass and all the effects characteristic for this era. Also, we wanted to pay homage to the late Rick Wright by inviting our friend Mary Pilarczyk to sing his parts so gracefully as she did.

We also wanted to commemorate the 79 A.D tragedy of Pompeii in a strong and poignant final of this short film that hopefully will not be considered as an ordinary "video clip".
