What is Depression?

This is taken from a talk given in Portland in April 2008 in which Venerable Bhante Vimalaramsi, abbot of the Buddhist Dhamma Sukha Meditation Center of Missouri, USA, addresses the question of what is depression and how one can understand it. And based upon that understanding how one can then begin to let it go and understand that it originates from a painful feeling in mind. Through meditation this can be seen and through deep insight it begins to weaken its hold and then disappear entirely.
Forgiveness Meditation as taught by Bhante Vimalaramsi is a powerful new form of meditation that one can use to let go of the deep hard-hearted anger and frustrations from the past. It shows a clear roadmap out of depression and other negative states.The practice is easily done 30 minutes or more a day at home and progress can be seen very quickly.
