Watching this video back, I realized there was something that I really would like to have commented on, but I didn't... The patient who was Spanish speaking, when they first introduced her, Elliot said she had Lupus and came in with shortness of breath. Her plan was starting heparin and getting a VQ scan. This was something that just was natural for me to hear, so I didn't even think to comment on it in the moment! Lupus is a disease that makes you more prone to clotting. Elliot was concerned for a clot in her lungs, which is why she started an anticoagulant (heparin) and got a VQ scan, which is a scan of her lungs to help evaluate for a clot.
