Karen appeared on Vasili's Garden in March 2012.
Karen is a horticulturalist and studied at Burnley. Karen and Vasili talk about her home made wicking garden bed. They discuss edible plants including; strawberry grapes, pepinos, babaco, golden delicious apple, old English bantam hens, deep litter compost system, fig tree, elderberry, banana.
The grafted bacon avocado tree is cold tolerant and grows well in Melbourne.
The Raspberry patch is netted, this plant is easy to propagate.
The flood and drain system of aquaponics makes it difficult to grow lettuce.
Vasili tastes the honeycomb from the rooftop bee hive.
Karen and team are preparing for the Whittlesea display, with plants from different cultural communities in Whittlesea.
Vasili and Karen check out the nature strip planting in Moreland. The verge has pistachio trees, amaranth, sunflowers, olive & loquat tree.
