Cycling World Record by Jonathan Shubert - Muscat to Salalah (Oman 2018)

A thirst for adventure and a hunger for challenge, Jonathan Shubert is a man unafraid to test his limits. In February 2018, Jonathan undertook one of his biggest challenges, attempting to set a new cycling World Record across Oman; pedalling the gruelling 1,200km from Muscat, the capital city of Oman, to the furthest southern city of Salalah in under two days.

One man, one bicycle and his support crew. People claimed this challenge was impossible, even before he began his journey into the unforgiving climate and topography of Arabia’s Sultanate of Oman. This ambitious challenge was not without difficulty as Jonathan battled gastroenteritis, heat stroke, and exhaustion -- a combination that brought him close to death.
