Commander Adrian Kessler and his crew are sent to investigate Sector Delta-Seven—a restricted region of space known as "The Necropolis" where 247 ships have vanished over 33 years. What they discover is far more terrifying than any equipment malfunction or cosmic phenomenon.

Hundreds of derelict vessels float in a perfect sphere, all oriented toward something at the center. Aboard the dead ships, crews sit frozen with peaceful smiles, their consciousness extracted by an ancient entity that believes it's offering salvation through eternal preservation.

As the entity begins claiming Kessler's crew one by one, copying their minds while trapping them in their own bodies, the survivors must make an impossible choice: accept immortality in the entity's vast collection of preserved consciousness, or fight for the right to remain mortal, temporary, and truly alive.

This is a story about what it means to be human, the value of mortality, and why some gifts are more terrifying than any curse.
