Hurricane Sally caused significant damage across portions of Gulf Shores with wind and water. High winds peeled back many roofing structures as well as destroyed much of the power poles in the area. Significant storm surge also left many roads in the area impassible. The Gulf Shores Pier was also partially destroyed by the storm.
