Hello! This is Natalia from Suburban Mini Homestead.
The summer is in a full swing. Its hot and humid over here in Missouri. Thanks God, my chickens are healthy and happy that is making me feel like I am doing at least something right in my homestead.
The garden is growing good as well. And I will share it with you on my next biweekly garden update.
But today I have decided to share my experience of building Japanese garden in one of the parts of my garden. Why Japanese? First of all I have bought Japanese Maple tree last fall on a huge clearance and I have to plant it into the ground. But where.... Its a dwarf tree and will look awkward just in the middle of the lawn. So I will have to create a special environment that will incorporate the tree and enhance the visual appeal. Since its a Japanese Maple I decided to build a Japanese garden around it. Any Japanese garden assume the water feature in it. Since I have the waterfall sitting on my property for quiet a while I have decided to use it in the area. Also I have a collection of low growing bushes and trees including bonsai tree that I have to plant soon before they die.
Also having extra rocks available from last project made me think why not creating something look likes a river ... So here I am. Enjoy!
