As a signatory of the Framework for Education for All in the World Education Forum in Jomtien, Thailand (1990), as well as the Salamanca Statement (1994), the Philippines' implementation of Inclusive education is still in a "beginning" level (Muega, 2016).
To better understand the status of inclusion and inclusive education in the Philippines, as well as to reflect on your possible role in it as a BSE student, let deep dive in inclusion and inclusive education in the Philippine setting, based on different researches of Filipino educators and authors, as well as the education policy report of UNESCO.
This is an introductory discussion video specifically made for my students in EDUC 65: Foundations of Special and Inclusive Education at the state university where I work at. It is contextualized for their level of understanding about the topics in this lecture.
