Namaste
This wood came from the upper root system of a Horse Chestnut Tree and had a burr at ground level.
I used a 3/4 inch bowl gouge for the entire process. The bowl is finished using hard Beeswax.
I'm slowly working my way through stored woodworking items that need to be finished. Many items are prepared or shaped while the wood is still wet or green and put away to be worked on at a later date when they have had time to dry. This bowl was rough turned in September 2017 and I am finishing it today in April 2025.
I like the idea of DIY and making my own Tools, especially if it is a Tool that is not easily found or readily available. Handmade Tools give great satisfaction and for me it is fun knowing that I created something to help me better improve my woodworking experience.
