Trooper's Narrative:
On April 8, 2025, Trp. Adrienne Belcher and I received a call from dispatch advising that the Dardanelle Police Department was
involved in a vehicle pursuit in the city of Dardanelle, requesting our assistance. Dardanelle advised the initial reason for the
stop was defective equipment and that the passenger in the vehicle threw out suspected illegal substances. The suspect
vehicle in the pursuit was a green Chevrolet S10 single cab pickup traveling south on State Highway 7.
As the pursuit continued southbound on State Highway 7 with Officers Matthew Burks (Primary), Carlos Flores, and Chief Joe
Paterak, Trp. Belcher and I continued to catch up to the pursuit. While the pursuing officers were approximately 1⁄4 mile ahead
of us and passing State Highway 7/ New Hope Rd intersection, Officers Terry Howell and Anthony Chronister with Ola Police
Department advised they had spike strips set up near the intersection of Tucker Road and State Highway 7 on the bridge. The
spike deployment was successful, however, the suspect vehicle continued southbound into Ola city limits.
Once we caught up with the pursuit, I took over as primary at the intersection of State Highway 7/E Spring Street with Trp.
Belcher as my secondary. After turning left onto E Spring Street, we traveled approximately 1⁄4 mile before I performed a
Tactical Vehicle Intervention (TVI) on the suspect vehicle, sending them off the roadway to the left. Upon coming to a stop, the
driver of the suspect vehicle identified later as Craig Sebastian, began to flee on foot. After a short chase, I was able to
apprehend Mr. Sebastian by tackling him and physically restraining his arms behind his back.
The female passenger in the vehicle identified as Micaela Bowden immediately surrendered in the pickup and was taken into
custody by Dardanelle Police Department. Following the pursuit, C & C wrecker was called to retrieve the Chevrolet pickup,
and Mr. Sebastian was transported to Yell County Detention Center. Ms. Bowden was cited and released by Dardanelle PD for
littering.
