Almost There But Not Really is a shoegaze band from the South Side of Chicago. Their music is dreamy and expansive, with great use of effects and emotional vocals. I've been hearing this band live for almost four years now, and through the lineup changes and periods of rebuilding the band has persevered and remained one of Chicago's shoegaze and dream pop mainstays. ///

These videos are a part of an ongoing series highlighting independent/DIY artists performing live music, mostly in and around Chicago. My goal with this series is to document these performances, to help smaller artists find new ears, and to help people in our community (and abroad) find cool new bands. I hope this will make the Chicago "scene" a more connected, supportive, boundless, and long-lasting community.
