Reflect on Legacy of the Late Cardinal Emmanuel Nsubuga
Catholics have been urged to trust in God in order to achieve things that might seem humanly impossible. This message was delivered by Rev. Father Rev. Fr. Dr. Hilary R. Munyaneza during the memorial mass to mark 33 years since the death of the late Cardinal Emmanuel Kiwanuka Nsubuga. The Mass was at the Institution of the Good Samaritan Sisters founded by the Late Cardinal Emmanuel Kiwanuka Nsubuga.Emmanuel Kiwanuka Nsubuga was a Uganda Catholic prelate who served as the first Archbishop of Kampala from 1966 to 1990 and as a cardinal from 1976 until his death. He was an opponent of human rights abuses of the military dictatorship of Idi Amin. Cardinal Nsubuga passed away shortly afterwards on April 20, 1991, of blood and bone cancer in a hospital in Cologne, Germany where he had been admitted on the previous December 5, aged 76. His was laid to rest at Nalukolongo, a home the Cardinal himself started for the destitute.
