Devotion to Emergency Preparedness Leads to Life of Service to Others

The world is a complicated place, but it’s a safer one because of Kate Shimshock, MSW, emergency preparedness and safety program manager at UCSF Facilities Services. In her role preparing UCSF for emergency situations, Kate has embraced a life of service to others. Her commitment to the UCSF community has created a better, more secure workplace for all.

Kate is the recipient of the 2025 Chancellor Award for Exceptional University Service.
