TODAY'S GOSPEL: John 2:13-22
The Gospel of John reminds us that the Lord himself was riled up against corruption happening inside the church in His time. As Pope Francis said, corruption is paid for by the poor, so we should not just condemn corruption but also do something, if we can, to stop it. As we celebrate today the feast of the Dedication of the Lateran Basilica in Rome, we remember our duty as Christians. It is a reminder that we are the temples of Christ; that more than just the church as a structure, the Church is actually the community. So it is up to us to safeguard the sanctity of our church structures and of our community structures, and to keep it free from corruption.
