Trying to Get Deep Into the Okavango Delta// EP.52

The Okavango Delta is one of the most inaccessible places on the planet. It is a paradise wetland, and most of the Delta is only accessible by plane. We are taking our Land Rover Defender deep into the Delta to see how far we can get.

We start in Khwai at the east side of the Okavango. here one can find animals everywhere, even have traffic jams due to way too many giraffes. We are going towards Maun. The road connecting Khwai and Maun is incredible, most of the time straight, with a very bright white sand color. We were having fun cruising , when we decided to swap, so I could take the wheel. Just right after, the weather turned bad, really, really bad. Rains in Botswana can be very heavy as we learnt this day. The road turned into a swimmingpool.

In Maun we celebrated Irati's birthday (Okavango brewery) before driving deep into the Okavango Delta. We didn't have a route or plan and we didn't know how far we could get and if we would find water.

After several days exploring we decide to head towards Maun and join last minute a Flying Safari over the Okavango Delta. Let me tell you flying over the Okavango Delta is once in a lifetime experience.
