In this video we are going to create a full scale 3D printed brake caliper and rotor model including a wheel bearing hub with real tapered roller bearings from a vehicle so the whole assembly spins! Additionally, I've created a mounting provision for an LED strip so we can light up our model to make the ultimate desk accessory for car enthusiasts.
I will walk you through all of the considerations for printing, including any special notes about print profiles, slicing, adding supports, etc. The typical build volume required is roughly 250mm x 250mm build plate or larger. If you have a 3D printer with a small print area you may have to break up some of the parts even further.
This model will look fantastic on your desk, shelf, or on display at your business. You can even use it as an educational tool to show the components and construction of vehicle brakes and bearing hub assemblies.
All of these parts were originally printed on my Anycubic Kobra S1 Combo, you can find that machine here:

Some parts can optionally be laser cut. If you want the absolute best unit for acrylic laser cutting, look no further than the xTool P2S:

I have provided all of the model files for 3D printing on makerworld at the following link below:

The following hardware parts are required to build the model. As an Amazon associate I may earn a small commission (at no extra cost to you)
Tapered roller bearings (1 of each):

Thread forming screws. You will need 35 screws, so a pack of 50 is sufficient. In the video I used M4 x 10 but these are essentially the same and easier / cheaper to find in North America:

If you are new to 3D printing I still think you should have realistic expectations of the learning curve involved with the hobby. The machine works well out of the box but if you happen to run into issues you will likely get frustrated at first. Take a deep breath, stick with it and don't give up! It doesn't matter if you have an Anycubic, Creality, Bambu Labs, or any other popular high speed printer of this era, eventually you will need to do some troubleshooting. Stick with it!
