Boston Family Trip Vlog

A week of exploring history, great food, and summer heat in Boston! Here's what we did day by day:

Saturday: Arrival
• Flew from SFO to Boston (flight delayed 1.5 hours)
• Took a bus from the airport to our hotel and checked in

Sunday: Exploring Downtown & Freedom Trail
• Breakfast: Bakey Babka (151 Tremont St, Boston, MA 02111) – delicious pastries
• Walked through: 
– Boston Public Garden 
– Beacon Hill neighborhood 
– Freedom Trail (we followed it all the way to the end, across the river)
• Stopped by Quincy Market – an old market turned food court (we just looked, didn’t eat)
• Explored North End – the Italian district with bakeries and restaurants
• Visited USS Constitution, also known as "Old Ironsides," is the world's oldest commissioned warship still afloat
• Lunch: 99 Restaurants (31 Austin St, Charlestown, MA 02129) – great meal, ~$70 for 3 people
• Dessert: Ice cream at Toscanini’s (159 First St, Cambridge, MA 02142) – so good!

Monday: Art & Universities
• Breakfast: Panera Bread – meh
• Spent the day at the Museum of Fine Arts (MFA Boston) – saw the Van Gogh exhibit
• Walked past Northeastern University and visited the MassArt campus
• Dinner: Chinese food at Fuchun Ju (55 Beach St, Boston, MA 02111)

Tuesday: Seaside & Lobster Rolls
• Breakfast: High Street Place Food Hall (100 High St, Boston, MA 02110)
• Walked around South Boston Waterfront
• Hid from the heat a few times at Tatte Bakery & Cafe (200 Pier 4 Blvd., Boston, MA 02210) – nice coffee, refreshing drinks, and clean restrooms :)
• Skipped the Boston Tea Party Museum, and instead did a harbor cruise – 1 hour, $170 for 3 people, departing from the Aquarium
• Dinner: Lobster rolls at Saltie Girl (279 Dartmouth St, Boston, MA 02116) – a bit pricey but totally worth it

Wednesday: Libraries, Ice Cream & Ivy League Vibes
• Breakfast: Finagle a Bagel (535 Boylston St, Boston, MA 02116) – tasty filled bagels
• Visited: 
– Boston Public Library 
– Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum
• Headed to Cambridge to walk around Harvard and MIT
• Lunch: Mr. Bartley's Burger Cottage (1246 Massachusetts Ave, Cambridge, MA 02138) – locals say it’s the best burger in town
• More ice cream: Toscanini’s again! (899 Main St, Cambridge, MA 02139)

Thursday: Last Day
• Breakfast: Bakey again – couldn’t resist
• Picked up some chocolates at Lindt
• Hung out a bit more at the Boston Public Library
• Lunch: Hunan Cuisine (45 Beach St, Boston, MA 02111)
• Took a bus to the airport and flew back to SFO

During our trip we walked more than 100 kilometers and I sketched 11 pictures.
