Porky Pig's Haunted Holiday is a pretty...mediocre and uninspired game. I always remember this as "that game with the weird pillow-shaded Porky sprite". The story behind the game is actually more interesting than the game itself. It was almost published by Sunsoft of America, but it wound up being released by Acclaim after the former went bankrupt. Acclaim forced the developers to replace the entire soundtrack because they didn't like the clicking artifacts, and the end result sounds much worse with less instrument channels and several tracks missing entirely. In July of 2025, two earlier prototype builds were discovered that had a much smaller Porky sprite and 6 unused minigames.

Still, Porky Pig's Haunted Holiday is a decent title to show off for the Halloween 2025 season. For a children's game, this game has a very unnerving atmosphere thanks to the discordant soundtrack. The opening level in the Acclaim version sounds straight out of a Resident Evil game. I probably should've recorded this in S-Video as well, but at least the pillow shading on Porky's sprite is less distracting in Composite.
