Roger Sadowsky's goal was always to further improve an already very successful bass design by making a number of detailed improvements. Along with the electronics, which he himself developed, Roger succeeded in raising the well-known P/J bass sound to a new level, resulting in the Sadowsky tones we all know and love: Never harsh or shrill sounding. Strong and powerful (but never muddy) bass. Present but not too aggressive mids. A sweet and airy treble range. Today you can find this modern bass sound in the Metroline series of 21-Fret Vintage P/J basses that are made exclusively in Germany.
This 4-string Vintage P/J Bass features a Solid Black High Polish finish, active electronics with true bypass, Vintage Tone Control, treble and bass boost, ultralight Sadowsky tuners and a special Sadowsky bridge with quick string release. The sleek undersized J-Style body is made from American swamp ash and features a maple neck and fingerboard. The complete bass has a total weight of only ca. 8.9 lbs (4.0 kg), making it a great choice for bass players who are looking for a lightweight solution for the stage that also offers a modern bass sound.
