Get ready for some driller killer mayhem — I’m watching The Slumber Party Massacre (1982) for the first time!

Written by Rita Mae Brown and directed by Amy Holden Jones, this Roger Corman-produced cult classic became one of the most iconic slashers of the 80s — both for its over-the-top kills and its sly satire of the genre. Starring Michelle Michaels, Robin Stille, Michael Villella, and Debra De Liso, the film follows a group of high school girls whose slumber party turns into a bloodbath when an escaped killer armed with a power drill crashes the fun.

I’ve heard this one walks the line between parody and pure horror — so I’m excited to see if it lives up to its legendary status.
