Central Thailand: Samut Prakan (East) - Between Bangkok and the Gulf of Thailand

Samut Prakan lies to the south of Bangkok and straddles both sides of the Chao Phraya River where it flows into the Gulf of Thailand. Thus the province is also sometimes called Pak Nam, Thai for 'mouth of river'. In this video I explore the sights on the eastern side of the river which includes the main city itself with its 180m high observation tower that offers wonderful views over the city and to the western side of the river. I also visit the city's shrine, market and riverside areas before heading along Sukhumvit Road to take in the Naval Museum and the landmark 3-headed elephant statue at the Erawan Museum.

As Samut Prakan is so close to Bangkok, it can easily be reached by taking the BTS Skytrain. Note that I didn't visit the Ancient City in this video as I'll visit that another time and make a separate video about it.
